Delete your account or data
Last updated:
Three kinds of request
- Delete a user: one person’s sign-in, such as a rep, a driver, a member of the office or a portal user. Their access ends straight away. What they did stays on the record of the company’s orders and invoices, under their name.
- Delete a company’s data: a fresh start. We erase the company’s products, prices, stock, customers, vendors, orders, invoices, purchase orders, routes and the files that go with them. The company’s account and its users stay.
- Delete the whole account: the company is closed for everyone. Nobody can sign in, the rep, driver and portal apps stop working, and connections such as the accounting sync end. Then we delete it with everything in it.
Only an admin of the company can ask to delete the company’s data or its account.
How to ask
- If you are a user of the rep, driver or portal app: ask your company’s admin to remove your user. If they don’t, email distrx.io@gmail.com from the email address you sign in with, and name the company.
- If you are a company admin: email distrx.io@gmail.com from your admin email address. Say which you want (the company’s data or the whole account) and give the company’s name. We may ask you to prove the account is yours before acting.
- If you are a customer or vendor of a distributor: the distributor decides what it keeps about you, so ask them first. You can also email distrx.io@gmail.com with the distributor’s name and the email you used. We pass it on and help them act.
How long it takes
Removing a user takes effect at once. We carry out every other request within 30 days and confirm by email when it is done. Deleted data then leaves our backups as they expire on their normal rotation.
You can take a request back by emailing us before it is carried out. Once it is done it cannot be undone, so export anything you want to keep first. Every list and report exports to CSV.
What stays
- After a user is deleted: the company’s own records of what that user did, such as the orders they took, the deliveries they signed off and the changes they made, because those records belong to the company.
- After a company’s data is deleted: the account itself, its users and settings, and the record of who signed in. Invoice numbering carries on where it was, so a number already given to a customer is never used again.
- After the whole account is deleted: nothing of the company stays in DistrX.io. Our server logs and backups age out on their own schedule.
- Either way: anything the law requires us to keep, such as our own invoices to you, or to preserve for a lawful request from an authority.
